How Steven Mulligan helped Rosier Constructions implement software solutions that enhanced their business processes

Since 2004, family-owned R & T Rosier Constructions has provided the Launceston and Northern Tasmania with high-quality construction services, including many commercial and government buildings. Their focus on reducing costs without compromising on quality, and on reducing waste by recycling existing building materials has consistently impressed their clients.

When Toni and Richard started Rosier Constructions, they knew they needed to put the right systems in place. Steven Mulligan first assisted them through the accounting firm he worked at, where he became their go-to for advice and guidance.

“He was one of our accountant’s associates, so he had a very good knowledge base in everything to do with our accounting packages from the start,” Toni says. “We were guided by what he does. If we have queries about things, he comes back to us with all the information and possible solutions.”

Steven started by setting them up with MYOB, training Toni and Richard in using the system, and customising their MYOB package to better suit their construction business. Included in the training and customisation were:

  • Payroll
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Sales invoicing
  • Job reporting

Toni and Richard especially appreciate that Steven took the time to teach them how to apply and use the various applications required to run their business.

“About 8 years ago, he spent six to eight months in our office with us, doing background programs to add into our MYOB. He’d come out every Friday and see us to do this–building the reports we needed.”

Toni says Steven is very thorough, easy to work with, and positive. She also notes that she happily sends colleagues and other business owners to talk to him when they have problems.

When Steven founded Number Krunchers, Toni and Richard came to him for their software needs, including problem solving, and researching construction-related software that integrates with MYOB, making business administration easier and more efficient for them. They also reached out for assistance with customising job profit & loss reports for their building projects and help with finding a suitable software solution for managing their building projects.

“I’d send anyone with issues to him. If I know of someone who has a problem, I send them straight to him. Anyone starting up a business, I send straight to him. He’ll help them start to finish–he’ll complete everything.”
